A day off, sick in bed, is made better with a detective story. The writing reminded me (somewhat) of Dennis Lehane and Robert B. Parker, though not of the same quality. I thought the storyline could have used a little work, as it was confusing at times and not clearly explained in others.
Carlotta is a character much like Stephanie Plum, although not as incompetant (to my way of thinking).
