I had never read this book, but have heard a bit about it. I finally bought it at an op shop. The book I was reading was too heavy to read one-handed, so I picked this one up while breastfeeding yesterday. I managed to read it in a day and a half and really enjoyed it. Teen sci-fi is one of my favourite genres to read without thinking, and this is a good example.

I liked the way that the characters were real - naive, unsure, aggressive, conniving, easily tricked (not all characters or all at once). It created realistic situations and a plausible ending.

I think freelunch will appreciate this, if he hasn't read it. I will add it into a bag of books I am sending his way.

I read this book in primary school and I remember enjoying it at the time - this is the second copy I've received via bookcrossing, meaning I'll have two to pass on once I re-read it :o)

I never did get around to re-reading this book, but I gave it to my youngest to read before we watched the recent film adaptation.

He enjoyed the book. Neither of us thought much of the movie.

And the time has come for this copy to move on...
