Christopher Tolkien has taken his fathers notes and has produced what could have become another fully rounded story. It works well even if it lacks quite the fire of the masters evolved tales. It certainly shows to what detail JRRT went in creating a history on which his Middle Earth could rest. Wondered forst whether CT wasn't just rehashing what had already been published in the lost tales. That is probably true. Most if not all has come into print before but ordering the story rather than leaving the fragments was worthwhile.
