9/20/07 I don't think I'm going to finish this book. So far the relationship between Faith and Vaughn does not appeal to me at all, and I think this book suffers from the same problem as all other werewolf series I have read- the alpha dominance shtick gets old fast. All changelings are alpha. They're all hunters who single-mindedly go after their perceived mates. They all have no respect for other people's personal boundaries. And none of them ever exhibit the tiniest bit of insecurity or doubt that their "prey" might not find them sexually attractive. Maybe I shouldn't have picked up this book so soon after reading "Slave to Sensation", but while I find Lucas's pursuit of Sascha charming, Vaughn's determination to crowd into Faith's personal space just made him look like a big bully. I kept on wanting to tell him to get over himself.
After reading "Slave to Sensation", I had planned on collecting this series and keeping it in my permanent collection. But now i've changed my mind.

5/2/08 Enjoyable 2nd book combining changelings (big cats / humans) and a mental/sci fi theme, the race of people known as "Psy" whose mental abilities run the gamut from telekenesis to seeing the future, etc.
With the Cat changelings (leopard, jaguar) having made an uneasy alliance with the Wolf changelings, mostly due to their mutual dislike of the Psy, things are getting interesting. I like the "drama" of the various pack interactions, and the steamy sex ;-)
The mental abilities/Psy race are a unique twist in this series, which I'll definitely keep up with.
