A very moving story of the life of Anne Deveson's son who became schizophrenic at the age of 17.
"..the compelling story of Jonathon, a charming teenager who turns into a fearful and frightening young man; it is also the heart-rending story of a mother facing the realisation that her child is going mad".

I read this when my son was of a very similar age to Jonathon, and I became aware of how this story could have been my son just as easily. In fact, one of Steve's close friends later became severely affected by drugs and took his own life as a consequence. My son's first confrontation with death was as a pall-bearer at age 20 for his friend.
