Succulent Wild Woman: Dancing With Your Wonder Full Self

What can you say about SARK? She's succulent and wild, and she shares her world with you here. She says, "It's a little bit like reading my diary - with permission."
Some excerpts I love:
"I think of us all as music boxes - beautiful and full of music... especially when we open up!"
"The tiniest story in your life can deeply touch another. You cannot know the effect your story might have. Please let your stories be heard."
"Don't power walk. Saunter slowly in the sun, eating chocolate, and carry a blanket so you can take a nap."
Stop looking at celulite. Only view your body from angles that don't show it."
Registering this book makes me realize that I simply MUST read it again, before I release it to another SUCCULENT WILD WOMAN!

Beginning this book ring with AuntNuts in Kenosha, WI. I'd like each reader along the way to feel free (even eager) to make notes, highlight portions, and share thoughts in the margins before it comes back to me!
Happy BX'ing, Succulent Wild Women!

Received this book yesterday. WooHoo! Can't wait to dive into it.
Very interesting book. This sat in my TBR pile for way too long, sorry everyone! When I did pick it up, I just couldn't make it through all of it. What I did read, I enjoyed and agreed with. I think this is a book that you have to have bedside or in a bag of reading that travels with you or even a "bathroom book", and read bits and pieces when you have a few extra moments. I may have to request it from the library at some time in the future. Thanks for sharing ladymoonlite! Enjoy everyone!

Received yesterday. Planning on starting on it this weekend. Boyfriend will be away. My best friend and I are going to dinner, the movies, and maybe have pedicures. Then I'm going to lounge around the house in my pajamas, and eat Godiva chocolate fudge ice cream. And then, I'm going to rent some chick flicks ("chocolat"....hmmm, maybe I'll save the Godiva chocolate ice cream for this movie) or a really great scary movie, since my boyfriend is such a scaredy cat he can't watch them. Sunday morning, indulge in a mocha or latte with a shot of chocolate from Starbucks and begin writing a rough itinerary for my impending (solo) trip this fall to Rome and Florence, Italy. (I'm already a succulent wild woman, I'm just reading this to verify what I believe is true!).
I finally managed to finish this book. I found it rather disjointed and hard to read....a little too "out there" as far as page format goes....I guess my methodical mind likes neatness and order. I agree with baronreads in that it needs to be a book to dip in now and again as the mood strikes.
All in all, a fun book if you're in need of reaffirmation of the "I'm OK" good vibes.
On to the next person. (Sorry it took so long; I didn't realize I'd had it for this long.....it's that "dipping into now and again" thing that gets one in trouble.

Ohhh my turn! I was wondering about this one. Most cool. Top o' the TBR stack. I'll read it right after I finish my Nora Roberts/JD Robb book. (another day or two, I've got school and a hockey game tomorrow)
Hard to read in a lengthy sitting. A great book for the bedside or bath tub (or other assorted bathroom fixtures). The writing is reminds me of an instructor I had that was ADHD. It skips around, bounces back, written in vignettes (SP?) and "oh shiney" moments.
Best quote in the whole book " Take a nap. It's when the angels come down and take special care of you."
It was interesting to read, but not something I'd keep on hand to read over and over. It's on to the next reader tomorrow. I meant to pass it on at this months meetup, but I spent the night in the ER instead. (all is well, false alarm)

I'm going to give this colorful book a good try.
Though I value the basic message (from glancing through the book) of appreciating and caring for oneself as a woman, the style seems a bit over-the-top, right-brain, even self-centered for me.
"Drench yourself in kindness." (I just read as I flipped through and can't find again)
Oh yes, I agree; but also, drench others, in my life/ my day, with kindness, as well!
PS - I'm totally impressed with the enclosed mailing labels for everyone! Thanks, ladymoonlite!

My original first impressions of this book remain - but I really did enjoy the chance to read it.
Two thoughts ring true/important to me:
"Being positive is a choice."
"...the ability to work deep and relax deep."
(also, I'm thinking of treating myself to some very comfortable pajamas!)
On to BC friend rendiru!

Yippee! This came in the mail today, but wasn't content to sit quietly with the rest of the bills and catalogs on the table, waiting for me to see it. Nope - it somehow ended up on the counter in its own little pile. I guess it must be a little wild. :-)
(My boys might have helped it a little - they know how I love to see packages of books.)
This will be my bedtime book for the next week or two.

I read this book in small bites. I think I would have felt burnt-out if I had tried to read it straight through. I enjoyed most of the book, but did find the format a little difficult - the hand printed letters on the page felt a little intrusive to me, but I suppose that was just a way of getting the reader to slow down and process what she was saying. This is a good book to read at night or at breakfast when you can nibble away at it like chocolate. :-)
It arrived today. Looks good and I hope to get to it soon.
AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!
I just found this ring book mixed in with a pile of books I've been planning to register but can't for a variety of reasons (some stupid...). How long have I had this book buried? Oh, BLUSH!
I feel like a heel for mangling the ring like this. Will send on to the next in line instead of holding this up any longer.

It's here! Woopee! This was a complete surprise in the mail today! I am in the process of moving & finishing a class (stress!) over the next few weeks so I will savor the little moments to myself when I get to read this. I'm looking forward to adding my thoughts & reading every one else's. Since Sark lives in San Francisco & is promoting a new book I was hoping I might be able to see her at a booksigning & hopefully let her know the journey of this book of hers, but it seems the only events on her website are in Chicago & Phoenix this summer. I'll still keep my eyes open, maybe magic will happen!
