Sorry about the late journalling, somehow my 'just caught' books seem to be getting in one of the Toobie boxes or piles before talking to the computer!
I loved this book. A murder story set in Restoration London, but with a modern-day protagonist who makes a deal with the devil in order to go back and find the culprit - or better still, avoid the murder altogether! Not a historian myself, I appreciated the authentic seeming atmosphere and details - and judging by the notes at the end it was meticulously researched. Great fun!

I used this book as one of my entries in a live bookswap at the meeting in High Wycombe today - I can't remember who won it, or if they took it, but I hope they did!
