Around the World in 80 Dates

This started out as a ditzy, typical British gal seeks romance in the vein of Bridget Jones and every other formula book that was popular at the time. Once the author got to Burning Man, though, the book took a lovely turn away from the pack and turned into a more introspective look at the realities of dating and love in the modern era. A lot of other reviewers felt let down when the book didn't live up to the 80-date promise, but I thought it was perfectly handled, and turned out to be a much more engaging read because of it.
Donated to the Friends of the Library for their booksale.
