WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
It's in the post
Received with thanks from Sephie, in exchange for one of my books (but not officially on readitswapit). Looks great - I will read (I have 5 bookrings on their way so might take a little while) and then BookRing it!
Thanks again!
A really lovely book; I was attracted by the Tunisian aspect, having been to that wonderful country twice now, and this novel follows the story of Fatima, considered unfortunate but useful in her village on the island of Djerba, who ups and leaves to be a lady's maid in Paris. There, she gets involved in the lives of the ordinary - and extraordinary - people who live in her building and visit the cafe at the bottom of the stairs. From the colourful African builder to the elderly Labrador, all are drawn with humour and love, and it's a lovely, positive, warm story.
This will be made available for a BookRing before hopefully being sent to a friend in Tunisia - I know a few people who will want to read it first!
BookRing!

Posting to Scotsbookie on the first stage of its bookring.
rrived safely this morning, thank you LyzzyBee. I have a few to read before it but will get to it asap.
A very enjoyable, heart-warming, feel good book that was just what I was needing to read. Great characters, from the grumpy, but underneath a softie, Countess with her aging Labrador; to Fatima herself, the unluckiest person in her village on Djerba, but really the luckiest, bringing happiness & love to all around her.
Thank you LyzzyBee, this will be off to Heaven-Ali asap.

Enjoy!
well I have no memory of signing up for this - but it looks lovely and I expect I will enjoy it a lot. I will read it in the next week or so.
I really enjoyed this touching and often funny novel about a Maid from Tunisia - who takes over from her sister in the home of an elderly Countess. Fatima manages to change the lives and the fortunes of all she comes into contact with. More importantly she begins to change her fortunes - with the help of the new friends she has made.
will be sending on soon.

If you have found this book, thank you for taking the time to look it up on the internet. Now please tell us what you thought of the book and what your plans for it are.
Arrived safely here over the weekend while we were away. I've started it already and am enjoying it so far. No reason to suppose that won't continue. I do enjoy the description of streets in a part of Paris where I have walked. Thanks for sending this as a bookring. I'll pm DK 1010 so I'll have the address ready when I've finished.
Quirky and enchanting with well depicted characters and unusual relationships. The tale introduced me to Tunisia with which I'd had no experience before. It also did as I expected and reaffirmed my love for Paris and some Parisiennes. I liked the way the Countess's character sneaked into the tale. Fatima was definitely a loving person giving her all whenever she saw a need; one warmed to her instantly and was not disappointed.
Many phrases and sentences spoke to me. I particularly liked the "tajine in a tajine" - perhaps it is I who is quirky rather than the book.
It will be on its way very shortly. Thanks for including me. The memory of thsi books will stay with me. Sometimes they don't.

RELEASE NOTES:
Posting off tomorrow morning.
I have received this book. I look forward to reading it very soon. Thank you to everyone for sharing with me.
I liked this story. It is a feel-good story about Fatima who has never traveled, off her island of Djerba, and never really wanted to. Due to life-changing events she finds herself a maid to a countess in Paris, France. She comes to enjoy her life and friends in Paris. Upon returning to Djerba, she reaches a decision about where to call home, and settles down in her home with luck, wealth and good friends.
The author keeps the story moving, it is full of descriptive phrases, but never overwhelming. I used a warm lazy summer day to finish this book nearly in one day; it was a nice day, like being on vacation.
I hope future readers enjoy the book. I'll be mailing this today to cardamom-wolfe.
I've just received this book from DK1010 and am excited to start it this week. I am away for 1 week travelling outside the US and so will post it on to Pammykn on my return. Thanks!!!
I really enjoyed this simple and happy tale about Fatima, who is a kind soul and radiates goodness. The end is particularly poignant, given the Parisian life and society Fatima inhabits as a maid.
The book goes on to Pammykn today - with my apologies at the delay - I'm including a map of Paris so one can track where Fatima lives and her meanderings in the city.
Thanks -- looking forward to reading. I need to amp up my reading pace. I am receiving so many great bookring/rays and I want to read all of them and not be a lagger.
Sorry for the hold-up contacting Oi-reader to get back in circulation. Sending off today 01/10/09. Thanks again for sharing this book.
Arrived safely today, thanks for sharing :) I have 2 rings ahead of it but should be able to get it moving within a few weeks! BTw...love the "extra" (don't want to spoil). It brings back wonderful memories ;)
I enjoyed this book quite a bit, being more interested in the immigrant's point of view. The ending was a bit predictable, but Fatima's Good Fortune left me with a warm fuzzy feeling none the less. Thamks for sharing! I have pm'd Wandering-B for their address and will have this on it's way later this week :)

Off to the next reader!
Received today. Thanks LyzzyBee for making it a ring and oi-reader for sending it to me. Of course, a couple on board, but it should not be too long.
ETA: Will request next address - but it will be two weeks before I can mail it back out - we're off on holiday and I can't mail it today. It will be back on the move April 18 or so. Thanks!
ETA again: Have PM'd next in line three times - waiting for a response perhaps the PM's are not going through. Will do an ISO if I don't get an address shortly. Thanks for your patience!
Arrived safely in the Swiss alps today - thanks so much. Thanks too for the lovely card, book mark - and map of Paris... I have two other rings here just now so this will slide into line behind them, but hope to get to it soon.
Sent along with a map of Paris..
I very much enjoyed almost all of this book... A lovely story about a simple (not in the pejorative sense) woman from Djerba who comes to Paris to replace her sister as a companion/maid for a Countess. I just felt the ending was a bit rushed somehow. With that exception, a very sweet read. I have the next address, hope to get it parcelled this weekend, sent next week.

Sent off to WelshHelen.
For the first time in weeks I checked my parcel box and found three rings books in there - oops! Sorry for the delay and for any worry I caused. This is the first one of the three and I hope to get it read in the next week or so.
My reading of this book was very fragmented which probably didn't help in my enjoyment of it. Though I *did* like Fatima, Hadley and Suget it was definitely Paris that was the star of the show.
A feel-good book which proves that being good and kind has its own rewards :-)
Thanks for shring, Lyzzybee. I've requested Cross-Patch's address and will post on to her once I have it.
Posted to Cross-Patch today.
Got back from a few days away to find this book. Thank you. Hello to the many friends before and after - lovely to recognise so many names!
This is a lovely warm, feel good novel. I enjoyed it greatly and am still enjoying the warm afterglow. Thank you for the chance to join in. I shall try again to contact calalilly to ask permission to send it to her, but I'll have to wait until this week's postal strike is over all the same.
I have now heard from calalilly so the parcel is going in the post today.
