In the Nevada desert, a handful of scientists are battling to retrieve a swarm of rogue micro-robots that has escaped from the lab. The swarm is self-sustaining, self-reproducing and capable of learning from experience. It is, to all intents and purposes, alive. And very, very deadly. And we are the PREY.
And we are the PREY.

Ah, hand delivered to my office by Mr TQD at lunchtime today. (Am I spoilt or what? Hang on, I won the Happy Crazy Smile Day RABCK Sweepstakes, so I think I am definitely spoilt!)
This is the second book to arrive so far (so I''ve still got a goofy smile on my face, tempered with a lot of relief that I didn''t jump to the wrong conclusion with the first book that I was the winner and thanked lots of people[*], only to discover that I was a decoy or something really embarrassing...).
I suppose this is the world''s way of telling me that I really should read at least one Michael Crichton in my life, hm? :)
Thanks heaps mummifiedX5, and thanks crimson-tide for organising the Happy Crazy Smile Day RABCK!
* It''s a bit like the Academy Awards, innit? I''d like to thank God, *wipes away a tear*, and my parents for believing in me and, *jumps up and down excitedly*, and you all like me, you really like me! Etc, etc, and so forth.

Found at the Crown Hotel. Tqd, if you think that you should read only one Michael Crichton in your life, this is absolutely not the one. Pick The Andromeda Strain, or Jurassic Park.
