The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
2 journalers for this copy...
I had a copy of The Hitchhikers Guide on the bookshelf in my classroom and several students read it and wanted to read the other books in the series. I wasn't able to find any at the used books shops (no surprise there) so I finally broke down and bought three copies of the whole series. Hopefully, the kids will enjoy the books and pass them around. If a few of my students get interested in reading because of these books, my money was well spent.

I've read both The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Restraunt at the End of the Universe. All I have to say is that both were hilarious, as is the third which i am reading now. The characters are developing great. I especially love to be annoyed by Marvin and his constant fits of depression-the ship commiting suicide for instance. In the second book, the part about how one planet sent away all of the useless people in its population, and these people end up becoming the true earthlings. Everything is funny, and makes you think. Overall, I loved both, and probably will the next three too.
I've completed the third book, Life, the Universe, and Everything. It was a great read. The scene during the never-ending party with Arthur and Thor reminded me of the scene in book 2(?) with Marvin and the Army robot sent to destroy Zaphod, and I laughed just as much. Great book, many laughs.
