Wow thanks! A wish list book!

When I read the first few pages, I was like, huh? This is the author who wrote Book Thief? The language is so retarded. But once I get used to the teenage speak and Aussie slang, I enjoy how beautiful and riveting the book is.
A teenager Ed gets notes that leads him to strangers, and he has to figure out how to deliver a message to them: a positive thing that will make their lives better. In some way it reminds me of the movie Amélie, with the same whimsical heart-warming touch. With each message delivered Ed finds himself changed by the experience. The book is targeted to young adults, and towards the end of the book, the message is delivered loud and clear, though the reader is unlikely to find it preachy at all.
It's the type of book that will leave imprint on the hearts of reader and maybe changes our lives.
This will now go to another BOer for a birthday RABCK.

I read this on the plane over to Canada. It is the sort of book you need to read in one sitting. I didn't think it was as good as The Book Thief, but that could be because the idea behind this story is too far-fetched. The characters were believable - it was the story that wasn't.
