Love all the "Precious" books.
Sending to Rochester NY to another bookcrosser.
Received today! It might be a bit, as I''m about 1/4 into another book, and about to start back to school... Thank you!
I loved this book! It was an easy, light read. I love the characters that Smith has created. I quickly fell for Mma Ramotswe.
I am also impressed with how in tune Africa/woman/roots/ Smith is. A perfect example, and my favorite line in the book... this writing sums up why I'm moving onto book 2 very soon...
"He looked at her in the darkness, at this woman who was everything to him - mother, Africa, wisdom,, understanding, good things to cat, pumpkins, chicken,, the smell of sweet cattle breath, the white sky across the endless, endless bush, and the giraffe that cried, giving its tears for women to daub on their baskets; O Botswana, my country, my place. Those were his thoughts."
