arrived in the mail from SavannahBlue yesterday.... and gulped down two days later in five hours. Sometimes I just need a large, rambling story , an easy fast read with no social significance. As family sagas/woman's friendship stories go, this one was pretty good, as Maeve Binchy always is. It was nice to immerse myself in someone else's troubles for a while. Thank you, SavannahBlue, for the trade. I am going to release this next week, either at Starbuck's or by mail.

just got the book - thank you drBrown! it has joined my TBR, which is huge, i must warn... but i'm looking foward to reading and releasing it.

although it took me a few years to start it, it was a very quick read in the end.
on the whole, binchy's writing is always more or less the same, almost charming in its simplicity, but at times more simplistic than simple.
having said that, i really couldn't put it down. but i couldn't help feeling that it was rather rushed throughout the end. i felt sure there would be a sequel somewhere, but apparently that's not the case.
