OK, this is one of my all time favourite books. Cold War, alcoholism, 50's fashion, love, New York, adultery - not some of my favourite things (except New York!) but they all came together and made me cry. I love the way he writes about people and makes them so real and you can relate to them and feel what they're feeling.
Favourite part - Mary and Frank's interlude in the backyard at the party, especially the description of her dress.
