The Sword of Heaven, Book 1.
Brief synopsis copied from fantasticfiction.com.
The second Novel of the Jaran returns readers to the world of Rhui at a time when the nomadic jaran people, led by Earth-born Tess and her jaran husband Ilya, are sweeping across the planet on a campaign of conquest. But more important is the battle for control which is about to be waged between Ilya and Duke Charles--who is also Tess's brother.

I've read this book - started it in June and finished it in early July.
It was a good read, a bit of a slog, but well written. It had been too long since I'd read the first book, so I didn't remember much of the story, but that was all my own fault. :-) The book doesn't recoup much of the plot of the first in the series, so little help there. :-)
It took me a while to read the book, I couldn't quite get into it, but it's well written, the characterization is pretty good, the setting is original and well worked out. I will be reading the other two books in the series too at some point.
This book will now become part of my Permanent Collection. Available for loans, though, probably. :-)

Decided I will never reread this, so I will release it and hope it'll find a new reader out there somewhere. Enjoy! :-)
