From the back cover:

In her early thirties, Elizabeth Gilbert had everything a modern American woman was supposed to want - husband, country home, successful career - but instead of feeling happy and fulfilled, she felt consumed by panic and confusion. This wise and rapturous book is the story of how she left behind all these outward marks of success, and of what she found in their place. Following a divorce and a crushing depression, Gilbert set out to examine three different aspects of her nature, set against the backdrop of three different cultures: pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and on the Indonesian island of Bali, a balance between worldly enjoyment and divine transcendence.

I finally arrived after a pleasant trip from South Carolina. :)So far I like the pacific northwest; it's a bit cloudy today and rain is in the forecast, but it's so green here. I look forward to staying here for awhile, and then I've been told I'll be available for trade. For now, I'm lying here by the window looking out at an expanse of trees and sky. Waiting to be next.

Journal Entry 5 by Fenortner from Olympia, Washington USA on Friday, August 31, 2007
Fenort has obtained another copy of me that she has permission to make part of her permanent collection. She's only on page 76 of my "twin" copy but she already LOVES me. I'm ready to travel the world if anyone is interested in hanging out with me for awhile. Email Fenortner about a trade if you're interested in eating, loving, praying and helping me travel. :)

Fenort loved this book more than she can even express in words. She told me that if she had enough money, she'd buy enough copies of me and send one to everyone she knows. She also told me this morning that I'm on my way to Tacoma to spend some time with her sister-in-law.

I have a feeling she'll appreciate me too. I look forward to my brief stay in her home and then my next adventure.

I am accually not finished with the book yet. This is the first time I have
logged on to this site. So I wanted to see what it was like.
The book is really great so far. Gilbert is a fun writer. She really knows how to get things across in a vivid way.
I got this book at a garage sale and was told about this website. So I will
finish the book and pass it on. Who knows where it will end up? Surely said
book would love to visit other places in the great north west.
