One of my favorite books! It is intelligent and hauntingly beautiful! The novel contains such poetic prose and vivid descriptions that are consistent with my experience of Mexico. This is both a love story and an armchair tour of Mexico. You can feel, smell and taste the isolated town of Ibarra that the North American couple, Richard and Sarah Everton, come to call their home. I have rarely been moved so deeply by a novel - I can't recommend it highly enough. I hope to share this book with someone who will appreciate it as deeply as I do.
