Book mooched.

I didn't really like this book very much at all. The Portuguese village of Mamarrosa is seen through the eyes of a selection its inhabitants - villagers, a motley crew of ex-pats and some tourists. It meanders about, going nowhere special - probably it's supposed to be a reflection of the Alentejo. I have been there - if briefly - and I think there is more magic and mystery to it than this.
