Little Children

This story seems, as many of Perrotta's do, to be a commentary on the hypocracy of suburban life. Todd and Sarah meet and instantly there is an attraction. They carry out their affair amongst the backdrop of suburban life, both are married, both have a small child, and both can't stay away from one another. On top of it all Sarah's husband is dealing with the intrigue of an internet fantasy life and Todd's wife resents him for the amount of time he gets to spend with their son. All the while there is a sex offender living in the neighborhood and some of the parents have taken it upon themselves to make his life a living hell. All of this comes together very nicely in Little Children.
