It’s been a while since I have read a Dick Francis mystery. I liked them for the horse theme. Although this book was associated with horse racing, it didn’t have the same type of horsey plot Francis’s other books have.
The plot revolves around this corporation that specializes in safety and assistance with finding kidnapped victims. Andrew Douglas is an employee who has been highered to find Alesia Cenci in Italy. She is a jockey and was recently kidnapped.
The novel takes the reader through 4 situations of kidnapping but they are all related.
Andrew is good at what he does. And I like his character.
The problem is, this book is kind of boring. It drags in some parts and I just as never really pulled in.
The ending was pretty good but was abrupt.
The book was OK, just isn’t going to be memorable to me.
