I got this book for $17.99 as it had 25% off at Whitcoulls.
Starting this book today. (Tuesday 12)
It was a good book but I didn't enjoy it as much as the other books I have read by this author.
The fact that the killer was too close to Billy annoyed me.
I didn't really worry for Billy at anytime in the book. Maybe the book wasn't scary enough for me.
Overall it was a good read, just not his best book IMO.

The problem I always have with Dean Koontz books (and all books of the genre, really) is that the reason for the protagonist not just going to the police straight away never seems compelling enough. I spend most of the first half of the book wanting to shout "Just go to the police, you idiot", and the second half saying, "Told you you should have gone to the police when you had a chance".
But if I ignore that particular irritation, it was a decent (if implausible) story.
