Perdita is very lonely in her tumbledown house by the loch. An orphan, said to be the daughter of a witch, she never goes to school and has no friends. But then strangers arrive on the island. First the mysterious mr Jones, then Tim and his blind sister, janey. Before long, Perdita is at the centre of a great adventure invlving hidden treasure, a mysterious secret.... and the first real friendship of her life.
This is a well written book if a little predictable at the end.
