Synopsis:
"A series of letters from Screwtape, a devil high in the Infernal Civil Service, to his nephew Wormwood, a junior colleague engaged in his first mission on Earth trying to secure the damnation of a young man who has just become a Christian."

This copy is a very old hardback edition (1947) which originally belonged to my parents. It has no dust cover and therefore no cover art. It is a well read, well worn and well loved copy - please treat it gently.

Aha! - Found this one on your wish list 9 moons, so sending it as part of one of my "clear some space" 3kg bag RABCKs for postage.

Bless you Helen!
This has been on my wishlist for 4 or 5 years now. I always hoped it would come my way one day...
My heart did a little flip when I pulled this one out of the bag. And it has its own little back-story, which has warmed me to it even more!
If I can bear to part with it, I shall make sure it goes to a good home...

Hmmm... I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. I have no specific complaint - it was well-written; blackly humorous, but subtle; clever and interesting. But I wouldn't say I LOVED it. I guess I was expecting more Bang! out of it, as I had heard it was his best / most famous work until he wrote Narnia (which I liked a lot). This is the second CS Lewis book that has left me slightly nonchalant at the end (the other being "Til We Have Faces").
Still, it's a worthwhile read, and highly recommended for the spiritually devout!
