Despite anything Margaret Atwood says, this is a work of science fiction. Having said that, it's not a top-notch work of science fiction, but is still worth the read. The story through most of the book is a fine read, if a bit predictable, but the end falls flat as the story is truncated prematurely and an inane discussion of the book by a group of far-future anthropologists ensues.
