Classic work on the danger of nuclear weapons and power plants.
Equally relevant today, be it nuclear weapons or global warming.

Amazon review:
"This book concerns itself with issues of much greater importance than the phenomenon of the hundredth monkey; it is about the necessity to recognize the dangers of sum zero conflicts (conflicts that result in a winner and a loser). In an age where the threat of nuclear war is (hopefully) diminishing, the words of Ken Keyes Jr. still have profound applications to individuals' life styles and global attitudes. The book dwells on the notion that a paradigm shift from "you vs me" to "you and me" is necessary to survive as a species. The book takes an hour to read. Everyone should read this book."

OMG Helen - when I pulled this out of the bag, I literally gasped! Surely this must count as one of the first unofficial bookcrossing books ever, as the author deliberately did not copyright it so that it would be reproduced and passed on and on and on.
I first read this in 1987, and gave it to a school friend. I have often wondered over the years if she ever passed it on.
The fact that it came back into my life 20-odd years later is uncanny...

So maybe the threat of a nuclear war doesn't hang over our heads as it did in the 1980s. Nevertheless, with nuclear energy and uranium mining still on the agenda at this very moment, the book has not lost its core message.
PLEASE do not keep this on your bookshelf. Pass it on to others who care about our environment, and our children, our future, and indeed our planet.
