It's been awhile since I read this book (have read it more than once though!).

A powerful, well written story set in South Africa during the 1940's, following the journey of P.K. a boy who grows up learning how the power of one can beat the odd's.

The cover of this book has scenes from the movie on it and even if you have seen the movie before reading the book, it's still worth reading the book as the movie matched it pretty well but the book has extended scenes and additional characters.

This book is escapism at it's best! It made me laugh and cry during the reading of it, I hope it moves you the same way.
