LAPD Lt. Peter Decker's half-brother's brother-in-law (whew!) has been murdered in NY. He is asked to come help by the family, but has a mixed reception. This is a rather convoluted but interesting mystery, unraveled with the help of his wife Rina.

thanks, Kiptrix!! I can't wait to read it!
Normally I look forward to the newest book by Faye Kellerman. I have enjoyed them all, in order, but this one is a little different from her normal fare.
Peter's half brother, Jon, a rabbi in New York, calls on him to help when Jon's brother-in-law is found dead and his niece goes missing. Of course the family goes to New York (or there wouldn't be this novel!) to help out. Once there, however, Peter finds himself hampered by the family's efforts to close ranks and keep silent, and is determined to help out in spite of their attitudes.
This one is a little more hardcore than Faye Kellerman's usual stuff and it kind of turned me off a little while reading it. But on the whole, it was a good mystery, and Faye Kellerman's fans will enjoy it.
