Uhm, what a wonderful little collection of Maya Angelou thoughts and stories. I passed my bachelor-exam yesterday, and was therefore able to finally finish this book today. I brought it with me on the bus going to the shopping mall and the journey felt much shorter than usual :)

I am now ready to start off this ray. Sobergirl has already been PM'ed and I'm waiting for a forwarding address :)

Update May 29, 2007: Sent off to Sobergirl in Finland today :) I hope it arrives soon in good shape.

Journal Entry 3 by Sobergirl from Turku, Varsinais-Suomi / Egentliga Finland Finland on Thursday, May 31, 2007
The book is now safely in Finland!
I will read it asap and pass it along to the next person.

I skimmed through the book a bit already, and found a wonderful quote to add to my emais!
Thanks, Maya

I read this last night when it was too hot to sleep.
Wisdom and thoughts based on Maya Angelou's own experience, that's what makes it so great!
Thank you MieLH for letting me read this!
I have contacted cross-patch and will mail the book as soon as I get the address!

Maya Angelou is a warm, perceptive lady and I appreciated a chance to learn from her wisdom.

I have sent quizgirl a pm for her address, but have had no reply (nor to an ISO) so I have posted it today, 17 July, to Haugtussa.

Thank you for sharing this book with me MieLH.

I love quick, little handbag books like these. Don't you feel like you've accomplished something when you can read a book in a day, while not neglecting work, etc.?

And what a fiesty little book too!

Most of the chapters were strongly presented, and enjoyable to read. I got a little cranky with one or two ('Virtue' and 'Style'), but I guess that is to be expected.

Maya Angelou is an amazing writer, and woman, and this little book contains many words of wisdom. You are the person you create and your actions define who you are. We are human, with faults and fears, but ever we can strive.

Just lovely.

Now, I've PMed Aussie-Rose for her postal details, and have the book all ready to post off.

Book arrived safely a few days ago - we've been away on holidays hence the delay in journalling it! I'll start reading it ASAP :-) Thanks for passing it along!

Great Book! I have enjoyed all the Maya Angelou stories/biographies! :)

This book is just "calling home" to say hello and let you know that it's still alive and well! :)

I would like to sincerely apologise for holding onto this books so long! My health has been quite bad over the past few years and I have been unable to concentrate enough to read some novels and be actively involved in Bookcrossing so some books have languished in my cupboard! I am releasing it into BibliophileOz's hands and she'll take the book to a meet-up or release it in a suitable location. Thank you for understanding! :)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Gratefully received from aussie-rose.

I have heard of Maya Angelou....I know she is a significant African-American writer and I regret that I don't know more about her. I may have read some of her poetry - at the edges of my mind is a powerful poem that I *think* was written by her but I can't remember what it's called. Thanks to Wikipedia I now know that I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is an autobiography. For some reason I always thought it was a novel! This looks very interesting but I will take it to the Meet-Up in March and maybe look for a copy of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.

If it doesn't find a new reader at the Meet-Up it will join the Great Book Swap.
