I am so hoping that I have categorized this book accurately. It's not like I can pull it out of the mailing crate that my mother sends and the book says," Hi, nice to meet you. I'm FICTION." Ok, admittedly, this book spoke to me. Kind of like a good beer name or the right pair of shoes .... I have a feeling it's fiction.
It is a really good read and I book that I feel that reading it over and over again might do me a lot of good. A story of someone that grows up poor. Likely a tragic start that ends up with a hopeful ending - but I learned and read so much more in it than what the previous words summed up. I found strength, I found determination and I discovered that it is ok to grow up in a family where the girls mean close to nothing. You can still be something.
