This is a completely believable, fictional account of the building of Stonehenge. Since all that present people know is the apporxomate age of the temple, the author was free to create his own story. The characters are very real with human desires, dreams and feelings that we recognise as the same we have to deal with today.
The author, Bernard Cornwell is the creator of the very popular Sharp's series. I have not read those, but his trilogy of King Arthur, The Warlord Chronicles, starting with The Winter King, is one of my favorite series.
I recommend this book as a fun and interesting escape which also creates atmosphere and has some history to tell as well.
