Recommended by other scifi/fantasy readers, so hopefully it'll be good!

I tried a couple times to get into this book and it just didn't work for me. I'm finding Huff has a 50-50 success rate with me. However, when she's good, she's excellent, so I'll keep giving her work a try. (It's not that it's a bad book - the writing's fine, it just took me four tries to bother reading past page 30, and that's the point at which I figure I might as well give up, 'cause for whatever reason it just doesn't grab me. If I wasn't moving soon, I might hang onto it, but...)
