Don't Cry for Me, Hot Pastrami

From the back cover:"It isn't easy being a Rabbi's wife in Eternal, Texas. It's even harder being a Rabbi's widow. More than a year after her husband's death, the congregation still expects Ruby to behave "appropriately". But sometimes it's hard to be pious and ladylike when you're investigating a murder...
In an attempt to boost Rabbi Kapstein's approval rating at Temple Rita, resident busybody Essie Sue organizes a group vacation in the Caribbean aboard Bargain Cruise Line. Bon Voyage! But Ruby fears that paridise at these prices may be a hoax. Or even a nightmare: the ship's lecturer is found dead before the boat sets out to sea. And on a cruise that includes day-old dinners, Elvis impersonators, and portholes sealed with bubble gum, it's not long before everyone is screaming S.O.S. The good news is Ruby discovers a new love interest on deck. The bad news is he may be a killer."
Somewhat zany. Almost too much for me.

reading it on the bus, so far ok
Good story, mystery with dumb bad guys and a beginning romance.
Liked the main character but the story was not enthralling.
Caught at the BookCrossing Meeting in Vancouver last night.
Well the plot was pretty wacky, I admit, but I did enjoy this. Of course, some genealogy's involved, so that's a plus for me.
