Miss Mary Russell, alias Mrs. Sherlock Holmes meets an old school chum, Veronica Beaconsfield, a charity worker for the poor;she is introduced to Margery Childe, the mystic leader of the New Temple of God, head of the charity for the poor!! Mary later finds that Veronica B. was badly injured & a few other sisters were also badly hurt after they all had changed their wills, leaving their entire money to the Temple if they 'passed on'! From here Mary investigates clues on these ladies & on Margery C. because she has the most to gain if any workers die !
Sherlock Holmes helps Mary's investigation, too ! Very interesting !!
'Sherlockfan' gets this copy 1st, for her 'PC' or to move on later ! Her choice !!

Thanks so much vc-mike. You know my interests so well.
Wonderful surprise parcel for me today.
It will be a wee while before I read all the books in the box as I'm hurrying through a few to take to the Melbourne Convention, Australia, in early October.

I had no idea that this book has been sitting on my shelves for so long - shame on me. My apologies vc-mike if you are still actively pursuing our joint hobby.
Do please send me a private message - I so often wonder how you are.

I found this as interesting as Laurie R King's pick-up of Conan Doyle's so delightful characters usually are. Want to keep it forever but now our lives are at the dreadful 'downsizing' stage I must reluctantly let it move one. There are other Sherlock Holmes fans around so I hope one of them finds this book.

Taking this book with me to a meet-up of Wellington Bookcrossers where I hope it will either be 'caught' or one of our members will take it for wild release somewhere in our glorious city. Another blue skied day although rather too windy for comfort.
Sorry I have run out of front-cover stickers - must purchase some more pending a trip to Hobart next month for a BC convention (mini I think) which I am greatly looking forward to.

Really enjoyed this story about Sherlock Holmes and Mary Russell. I’ll look out for The Beekeepers Apprentice which describes how they met and how she learned deduction from him.

I had never thought of Sherlock Holmes having a woman in his life, but here Mary Russell has come into his life. The story was an enjoyable read and now I want to read the preceding book and the following book. This is the second book in the series.

Released 3 yrs ago (8/29/2020 UTC) at Gungahlin, Australian Capital Territory Australia

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I didn't get around to reading this - though I did download a copy - nor was I able to release this well-travelled book to continue its journey with some international BookCrossers. But it's going to a good temporary home, with someone who will read through it.

Journal Entry 13 by winggoldenwattlewing at Nicholls, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Sunday, August 30, 2020
Picked up at our Bookcrossing meet, beside Gungahlin Pond, Nicholls, ACT.
The day was lovely and sunny, we spaced ourselves around a table, and nearby the sun sparkled off the water.
My mother was enjoying the first book in the series and so after being told that, I enquired if it were possible to get this one back and Skyring kindly returned it. I will bring this back to a future BC meet. Thank you Skyring for bringing it back.
