Phew I finished it ..there were times I nearly stopped but I was determined to find out what happened to Teresa. Intriguing book I didn't really get what it was all about until I reached the end.. I found the period/time detail of small town Australia at that time fascinating and probably more difficult to get into as it is so unknown to me. It is still a page turner but some bits drooped and I did truly grow to loathe Jonathan. In some ways the end is realy the beggining for Teresa as she has grown and spread her wings sexually and emotionally..so I would love to know what happens next.

The Australians view of London taking all the light and sunshine out of people so that they become pale and grey and grubby in short time of living there was interesting as was the academic/ or ideas view of that time from that perspective.

It wasn't exactly easy going but I am glad I read it and it gave me a new viewpoint on a lot of things. I think I can say it definelty fulfilled my Australia read challenge. Some day I will hunt out something else she has written..

Thanks for the RABCK Heaven-Ali it gave me chance to read something I might not have had chance to read.
It will now be moved to Available and passed on or Wild Released
