Since this is my own book...and a labor of love...I thought I'd provide a few of the reviews I received thus far. Linda Morelli

"Exciting amateur sleuth romance!...
The body of Jennifer Madoc is found at the bottom of the cliff near her home near Mendocino, California. The police rule out murder and suicide, concluding the unfortunate victim died in an accident though the heartless Jennifer had hurt several people, including a sibling. A friend of the late father Tom Furlough thinks a homicide occurred. He worries about Cat, knowing that she will obstinately make inquiries so Tom "orders" architect Derek Driscoll to pose as a concerned neighbor, but to keep her safe.
Cat believes the self-centered Jennifer would never commit suicide and knew the cliffs too well to fall accidentally. She concludes her sister was murdered and she plans to obtain justice though she rarely talked with her selfish sibling. Though he leans towards the Sheriff Department's position, Detective Frank Harris remains suspicious of Jennifer's former lover Derek. Cat also wonders about her "protector" who she is half in love with, but wonders if he is the culprit she seeks?
Fans of amateur sleuth romances will have no SHADOW OF DOUBT that this terse thriller is a superb tale that has cross genre appeal. The story line never slows down as Cat struggles with conflicting feelings when it comes to Derek, who appears like a modern day brooding gothic hero. However, the key to Linda Morelli's strong novel is that most of the cast seems multi-dimensional and had the motive to kill Jennifer. This reviewer intends to obtain a copy of Ms. Morelli's previous work, FIERY SURRENDER, after spending a delightful couple of hours enjoying this winner.”
- Harriet Klausner, The Best Reviews

Linda Morelli’s characters become lifelike as they struggle with troubled family relationships, deep hurts, loneliness and fears of letting anyone close. You become involved and suspicious of each character as more details are introduced. SHADOW OF DOUBT is a well-written romantic suspense...I read late into the night and finished it the following morning. This story is worthy of being published by a larger house, and it’s sad to know many readers will never enjoy Ms. Morelli’s offering since a lesser-known publisher is releasing it. This is a title I encourage you to seek out to read.”
- Carol Carter, Romance Reviews Today

“Catrin and her sister Jennifer were never close, but Cat is understandably heartsick when Jen turns up dead. Her death is ruled a suicide, but Cat knows her sister well enough to want to disprove such a miscalled judgement.
Cat gets unexpected help from her neighbor, Derek Driscall. Seeking Jen's murderer brings the two together, but finding who the real perpetrator is might just as easily tear them apart.
SHADOW OF A DOUBT is a bang-up mystery wrapped up in an admirable romance. Though the love story develops quickly...It is the mystery that qualified this page-turner. If you relish a romantic suspense, don't miss this one.” Four Stars ****
- Susan Mobley, Romantic Times

“SHADOW OF DOUBT … is a book that will keep readers turning the pages to find out "whodunit." It is also an interesting study of family dynamics, hopes and dreams, and the healing power of love.”
- Susan Lantz, AOL Fiction Forum

“Linda Morelli brings this fast-paced story to life with a combination of mystery, romance and a splash of gothic thrown together. Her characters jump right out of the pages and into the reader's hearts. They are people you will care about and cheer for. SHADOW OF DOUBT is everything a romantic suspense story should be and more!”
- Yvonne Hering, New and Used Books

“All of the characters are very well-drawn and complex. Even the secondary characters have a history. Some have better reasons than others for attempting to cover their association with Jennifer. …Overall, this is a fast-paced read. The clues to the mystery are scattered through the narrative; and the solution, when it comes, is satisfying. The story should have readers turning pages, and will keep you guessing until the end. 3 Daggers”
- Deborah Hern, Romance Readers Connection

“…I became engrossed in the mystery of who killed Jennifer. I enjoyed trying to figure out who did it. Ms. Morelli does a great job weaving the mystery throughout the story, and I enjoyed the story.”
