Registering this Hiaasen Florida eco-adventure on behalf of BookCrosser kenj, who was kind enough to let me read it first.
I found this to be one of Hiaasen's better stories. One of his trademarks is that he always makes a scapegoat of one or two of society's scummier strata. This time it's telemarketers, who clearly are a pain in the keester not just for the Floridians. Mix that up with the exploited (but never conquered) Seminoles, the wacky tourists, and a dreadful womanizing fish-shop owner who reeks of his stock in trade... and you have the usual Hiaasen recipe for chaos. Per usual, a few of the worst characters will meet appropriately disgusting fates, and the "nice guys" will survive the adventure and find ways to get on with their still crazy lives.
Returning book to kenj, for his disposition.

As in many of Hiasson's stories the characters are both funny and disgusting. How many of us have plotted revenge against the dinner time solicitors bombard our phone lines. Success to Honey Santana can only be hoped for.
Passed on at September meet-up.

I received this book at a BC-meet-up in Dublin, CA, USA and will take it home with me, to Germany.
[edit]
I red this book during my vacation in Sweden.
What should I say? It is a Carl Hiaasen. I had much fun reading it! I have the impression that he gets even better with every new book.
I will bring it to the next meet up in Dresden.
