Pre-numbered label used for registration.

This is my new favorite book! It's only March, but so far, this is my fave of 2007, I think. So much so that I even started a thread about it in the Book Talk forum :) Anyway, I liked it so much that I ordered a bunch of extra copies to send to people I love. This one came from eBay, and it's a good condition former library copy :)

I haven't even written my journal entry on the copy I read yet, but when I do, my thoughts will be here.

Sending this off to *Canadia* tomorrow after a "My Question" on Facebook. I asked if people preferred Anita Shreve or Elizabeth Berg, and was shocked that some of my favorite people hadn't read Berg! I'm pretty sure RBW is one of the people I meant to send this anyway when I was counting out copies of this one ...

I hope you like this, my friend :)

You sneaky Ant, you! Thanks so much for thinking of me. Now I'll be suspicious on all your questions, you know that, don't you? :D

I'm starting it right away. I've been stuck for a while not wanting to read so I hope this will help get me started again. I'll let you know. *Mwah!!*

I was a little embarrassed at how long I'd had this book, but, in my defence, it was packed away for quite a while. I just found it in a box of other books. I started reading it yesterday and finished it today.

I enjoyed the story but felt that it really only applies to "well off" women. Most women who become widows have to worry about money and probating the will and things like that. This woman was independently wealthy, didn't have a "job" in the normal sense (having to go to work at a place that someone else owns). She just decided to sell her house and then drove away a month after her husband died. She had no friends or coworkers to leave behind, nothing, really.

Even with all that to overlook, I did enjoy it. It's certainly a fairy tale type of book, in that it's way too pat to have ever happened, but it's a nice getaway from daily life.

I'll be passing it along to either my sister or niece and they'll pass it along too. It may not get a journal entry right away because I don't think either of them are members but it will keep moving.

Thanks again, Anto, for thinking of me! :)
