Just rec'd this book as a RABCK from kayjay33. Looking forward to reading it. My heart cries out against injustice, especially against children. I want to gather the children in my arms and protect them.

I read this the day I rec'd it. The horrific story of a woman who tortured and treated like a slave only the oldest of her five sons, for no apparent reason. Let me in shock and able to ask only WHY?? Perhaps more will be revealed in Pelzer's next book, "The lost boy". Have to get my hands on that one now.

I'm sending this one off, along with a few others, to a friend in rural Quebec. She is desperate for English books, as all the ones in her small, local library are in French!
