No synopsis available. I read this book many years ago. I vaguely remember it involved twins and transporting lettuce in refrigerated railroad cars. I do remember that I liked the book.

You were right, this is a weighty one! Steinbeck is a classic, but one of those classics you actually read because you want to appreciate his work and not only because you're forced to do so for high school English.

Have I really been holding on to this for a year without another journal entry? Sheesh. I picked up a copy of this book (same edition) at a used book sale about a month ago, so I can now set this free for someone else. It's a terrific book, and I'd wanted my own copy, so two birds solved with one rock.
