Different cover to that shown.
"Bill Bryson has the rare knack of being out of his depth wherever he goes - even (perhaps especially) in the land of his birth. This became all too apparent when, after nearly two decades in England, the world's best-loved travel writer upped sticks with Mrs Bryson, little Jimmy et al. and returned to live in the country he had left as a youth."

This is different than the other books of his that I have read. It is taken from the pieces he wrote for a magazine and is composed mainly of his wry observations of life in America.
This is now off to camis who has chosen it from the TBR relay.

Received safely today - haven't read any Bill Bryson before so this will be a new one for me.
I enjoyed this - a book to be dipped into from time to time rather than read in one go. Some amusing observations on life in America.
