An early JG Farrell first published in 1967. The cover is of a naked young girl which my son aged 8 thought was hilarious (? But perhaps that says more about 8 year old boys).
I really enjoyed it in the end, it had classic Farrell touches, his signature style, but it took a while for me to twig who was who and where they fitted. I do tend to read in very small, frequent doses, and perhaps it was just a side effect of this.
