The Big Love
10 journalers for this copy...
Allison Hopkins is a 21st-century urban neurotic, a former evangelical Christian whose live-in boyfriend has left her for another woman. Her anger, her religious confusion, and her maudlin desperation for a happy ending are the troublesome trivia she tries to sort through.
I'm going to send this out as a ray.

RELEASE NOTES:
No time with the new baby. I didnt want to hold everyone up. Sending on. Enjoy!
Retrieved this from the mailbox a couple of days ago.
Just this morning, I finished the book I was reading, so since this is a Bookring book I will start it later this afternoon.
Thanks for including me and I look forward to getting into this book :)
I finished this book this a few days ago. Not one of my favorite or even most enjoyable reads. It kept moving enough to keep my interest, though.
Alison is holding out for "Big Love" but the book never gets there or really even defines what "big love" is (for Alison specifically).
She does discover much about herself as the story progresses, but it is fragmented and seems disjointed - but then again, I guess there are times in life that are fragmented and disjointed.
Anyway, although it wasn't a great read, I am glad I had a chance to read something out of my norm and stick with it.
Thanks for sharing and as soon as I get AceofHeart address I will pass it along.

Controlled Release - Bookring in San Jose, California USA on Sunday, September 30, 2007
Released 16 yrs ago (9/30/2007 UTC) at Controlled Release - Bookring in San Jose, California USA
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
Passed this bookring on to the next person - it's on its way :)
received in the mail today with a beautiful postcard also. Thanks!!
The Big Love!!! Alison is looking for just that but she really can't define what the Big Love is.
Alison's first real boyfriend goes out for mustard at a dinner party and never returns. What a way to get dumped!! Alison must then find her way through the minefield of anger, confusion and desperation.
I found this book to be quite disjoint and often rambling. An interesting read but Alison is a bit too neurotic for me. I also found the ending was just too pat and not really explained
This one finally arrived today! Thanks for sending on.
Finished this very enjoyable book in one sitting last night. I don't usually enjoy books from this genre, but The Big Love was an exception - it reminded me of Jennifer Weiner's books, which I also enjoy reading.
I liked that Alison "found herself" by the end of the book and learned to like/love who she was, instead of finding "true love". Also the open ending was nice - different from other romances, in my admittedly limited experience.
Will be releasing this at the local OBCZ soon.

Please find either on a table or in the basket.
Intially thought this was a piece of mindless fluff but as I got in to it there were aspects that resonated, questions that were raised and there was an underpinning of good sense as seen through the way in which Alison reflected on her relationship with Tom. And we all know a Henry..even if not in an intimate sense!

RELEASE NOTES:
Will be released today at Coffee Bean, Rondebosch. This book is a ray so keep it going!
I got this book at the BC meeting, and immediately read it.
It was just what I needed. So witty and thought-provoking
Took this off my sister's book shelf (Mentia) - she is in Sweden, and I wanted some new things to read. Didn't enjoy the book that much - maybe I'm just too old for the existential wrestling Alison has with herself... :-).
Will be releasing this at the Pretoria Zoo tomorrow. Let's hold thumbs someone picks it up and registers it... none of my released books had ever been found.
