My mother gave me this after she saw me reading Aunt Erma's Cope Book. I hope to read it in time to release it at the Charleston Convention in April.

There is a handwritten note taped inside the front cover. This book was given to my mother during the time of my Daddy's first heart attack, in 1986. I'll keep the note, of course.

I sent this to the winner of braemar's Spurtle Sweepstake. Erma Bombeck is a little dated, but she still makes me smile. In the 1970s and 80s, hubby could always tell when I was reading her column in the newspaper - I was laughing out loud before LOL was an acronym!

It was quite a shock to me to find a package containing this book and Scottish coasters on my doorstep! braemar had told me someone else had won the sweep - I had just returned from the post office where I had mailed off MY package to the winner, and here was this exciting surprise!

I've always enjoyed Erma Bombeck, and I miss her. I will enjoy her still, I know, as I dip into the bowl for another cherry. And then I'll pass her on! Many thanks, FancyHorse!
