Started reading yesterday, am not sure yet if I will finish it. It is an interesting concept...it is about Mr. March, the father of the 4 Little Women of Louisa May Alcott's book. It is his story, his trip into the Civil War for the North. He is a chaplain, and avid abolitionist. At times, the story is very interesting, at others, it reads like a history book. There is also mention of Henry Thoreau, a young man who is attempting to develop a better pencil, yet can't stay out of the woods....

We'll see, I'm almost halfway done, at which point, I may as well finish it.

Yeah, I couldn't finish it. Didn't quite make it to the halfway point. The story itself sounds good enough, but there isn't enough conversation between the characters...it is mostly Mr. March and his thoughts...the most interesting parts are when he has exchanges with others...I will hand onto it in case I decide to try again after reading Little Women.
