As part of the One Book - One Edinburgh citywide reading campaign, where the UNESCO City of Literature Trust is giving away 25,000 free copies of "Kidnapped", we've decided to set some copies free at random locations across the city.
Stevenson is a fantastic storyteller and an Edinburgh lad - "Kidnapped" is a cracking tale of low skulduggery and high adventure!

Thank you, CityofLit1, for approaching me outside Negociants and giving me this copy!
I am sure my fellow bookcrossers, still in the cafe, were delighted to meet you too. I last read Kidnapped approximately 40 years ago and am looking forward to re-reading. This book has lots of extras - illustrations, a great photo of RLS on the equator, as well as introductions and a glossary. A treat in store for me!

What a delightful read this was! I loved the language, although I did have recourse to the glossary a number of times. A great story for children and adults alike - and one to rival Harry Potter.
I plan to release this on 18/2/08 in or around the entrance to The Writers Museum. This should coincide with this year's One Edinburgh -One Book campaign.
update - i left this on windowsill just inside entrance.
