from The New York Times: "So compulsively absorbing that reality disappears...One is swept along by those enduring emotions that defy modern art and a random universe: hunger for revenge, longing for justice and the fantasy secretly entertained by most people that the bad will be punished and the good rewarded."
This is a *book*. Almost 800 pages of sprawling Victorian craziness. I can't even begin to explain the story. It's very Dickensian, with an orphan boy, a disputed will and codicil, a Chancery suit that's dragged on for years and years, betrayals and kidnappings and mistaken identities...It's actually a lot of fun, and an easy read, even for all its length. I think the author must have had fun writing it. The similarities to Charles Dickens in plot and characters are deliberate and really funny. I liked it.

RELEASE NOTES:
This was a fabulous book! There were so many intricately interwoven family secrets; all surrounding a young boy, a will and a codicile.
I will say it took a long time to read, but was so worth it!
