The book delves into the twists of one unexpected pregnancy in one Irish-American Catholic family. The pages are rich with detail- from Irish ancestors to all the unexpected quirks of small town life. My family has always had strong women, and this book did an excellent job portraying the invisible hierarchy between strongly independent and proud people. I found this work at a discount bookstore that was going out of business... I wish I could have found a few more like it!
