Shake Hands with the Devil: The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda

I've been wanting to read this book for a long time and recently found a copy in a local independent bookshop.
A deeply gripping first-person account of an unthinkable episode in human history. I was truly horrified by General Dallaire's narrative of "The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda," yet somewhat comforted to learn that this terrible saga is not without its heroes. Very difficult to read, yet essential to an understanding of the cataclysmic years of the late 20th century.
We must strive to invest the very best of ourselves in this world we share, even when (or, especially when) the destructive forces of ignorance, greed and violence threaten everything we cherish.
