Someone who lives in my mother's building in New York City has found a trove of paperbacks somewhere (he won't say where). I'm not sure if he reads them all, but once he's through with them, he ties them in neat bundles and puts them next to the trash. My mom persuaded him to stack them in front of her door. I then drive them down to New Jersey and release them, usually at the book exchange box at the Edison train station. My dream is for more people to start reading again on the train instead of yakking on cell phones!
